With school being back in session, it’s easy to get super caught up in the swing of things. So much so that your mental health and well-being kind of just slips away. I decided to share a few things that I have incorporated into my life to help with this situation we call life. This is by no mean a cure to anything so don’t take it that way, it’s just one broke girls perspective on how to make subtle changes in your life instead of having to save up for therapy, liposuction, and whatever else will help cure the list of things that I believe are wrong with me… So here it goes:
Infused Water– So I never drink water, trust me I know how bad this is my skin informs me all the time of that. So I started reading about all the benefits of A. just water in general, and B. fruits in water… if you want to read that article it’s right here.
Now I wasn’t a fan of the recipes they gave on this website, so I searched the internet AKA a I went to Pinterest, check the photo for my faves.
None of these recipes are my own so please don’t write me up for a copy right violation. This is just a small list of the waters that you can make. All you have to do it type in “infused water” into Pinterest and you’ll hit the jackpot. Just a heads up though if you plan on drinking these waters be sure to do the research on what the benefits are and what the water is meant to do. I had a very bad experience with a certain Orange-Blueberry-Mint water, which I thought would be fine to take to a uni class with me, but little to my knowledge it was a detox flush water. It was meant to be drank at home, alone.
Teas– I am a huge fan of drinking 600 coffees a day. Realizing how with combined with the no water drinking situation how bad this is for me I resorted to only drinking 300 coffees and mainly before 3:00 pm ( unless I have an exam or need to cram then I’ll take my extra 300 coffee after 3:00 pm thank you very much), but in all honestly tea also has a lot of benefits and as I have learned can very much so relax, calm, and sooth you ( hi, I’m Gillian and actual 80 year lady, trapped in a 20 something-year-old body) There is a super hand graph/photo/thing I found to help guide me to which teas do what see here…
Like any other thing in the world I have my fave teas but currently, I am a sucker for Stash Dessert Teas – My local grocery store doesn’t have them all so I order them online from Amazon click here to do the same.
Davids Tea is also the bomb.com for teas, loose leaf is all I drink while at school. They have way too many flavors for me to list, but I’m a sucker for their Movie Night Tea. If you are a fan of loose leaf tea look at this cute little infuser eeeeek! Buy him HERE
Essential Oils- I am new to these, as in I don’t actually have a diffuser yet, but the amount of energy I have spent researching essential oils is kind of insane, instead of writing a whole post on the benefits I will link a pretty sweet list I found HERE. I have scoured the internet to what is a good diffuser to get and where to get it etc. Young Living keeps coming up and I have 100% thought about joining but I am leaning more towards trying out the oils before signing up. So I found this one. My hopes for oils are on the line of soothing anxiety, aiding sleep, and improving my overall well-being. This is the setup I have been looking at- buy it HERE
Smoothies– I am not a huge breakfast time eater. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE BREAKFAST FOOD, just not right when I wake up. I’m a coffee gal. Wake up, whisp on some mascara, fill up an oversized mug full of that sweet bean water and call it a morning routine for me. Until I got into the world of smoothies. I still drink my coffee, but now I pair it with a colourful smoothing to balance everything out. Smoothies are also one of those things that have a MILLION benefits depending on what you throw into your blender. I have been pretty stuck on my fruit smoothies, but there are tons of combinations to chose from, so find one that’s good for you and drink up 🙂
